Iowa Worker’s Compensation Commissioner Orders Video Hearings

A message from the Iowa Worker’s Compensation Commission:

The Iowa Worker’s Compensation Commissioner, in an effort to help mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus,  issued an Order on March 13, 2020 providing that all hearing scheduled through June 16, 2020 will no longer proceed as in-person hearings.  Instead all regular proceeding hearings shall be held by Internet-based video using the CourtCall service.  Any party requesting a continuance must file a motion at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the hearing. If a continuance is granted, the rescheduled in-person hearing will take place between June 22, 2020 and December 18, 2020 in Des Moines. The Department of Worker’s Compensation will pay all fees associated with conducting the video hearings through CourtCall..
