Lawyer-JynniferBates_tnJynnifer Bates has been with the firm since 2007 and practices in the areas of workers’ compensation defense and general liability. Her practice includes client consultation on reporting and investigating claims as well as advising on strategic measures to reduce risk and liability for employers and insurance carriers.  She represents clients at the arbitration, Commission and Circuit Court levels.  Jynnifer is a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She double majored in Organizational Studies and English and was a member of the Residential College.  She was very active in campus programming and assisted in hosting activities for Welcome Week and Festifall.  She also became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, a public service sorority.  Jynnifer received her Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she was a research assistant for Professor James Brudney and contributed to the research of trends in application of the WARN Act. She also clerked with the City of Columbus Law Department Employment Law Section.  Jynnifer is a member of the Black Women Lawyers Association and The University of Michigan Alumni Association of Greater Chicago.  She is passionate about youth development and serves in her church’s Children’s Ministry.  She is also a mentor to teenage girls as part of her involvement in the Chicago Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta and LINK Unlimited.
