Jack Shanahan joined Inman & Fitzgibbons in December, 2000, after 14 years of practice in private firms and in-house, working in defense of employers and insurance companies in the fields of worker’s compensation, employer liability, negligence and products liability. He has continued his work in those fields with the firm. In addition to more than 100 trials before the Worker’s Compensation Commission, he has conducted numerous jury trials as a defendant and third-party defendant in personal injury matters, and has argued more than a dozen appeals before the Illinois Appellate Court and Illinois Supreme Court. While with the firm, he has also recovered over $1,000,000 for clients in worker’s compensation liens, as intervening petitioner or third-party defendant, through settlements, mediations and jury trials. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Wisconsin, and is a member of the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Since 2002, Jack has spent fall weekends officiating high school and college football, including the NCAA Division III National Semifinal game in 2012. Jack was named a partner in 2004 and a shareholder of the firm in 2012 and Vice President in 2020.
